Executive Director Announces Retirement

Peter Douglas, the California Coastal Commission’s longest-serving Executive Director, opened yesterday's CCC meeting with an announcement that he will be taking a medical leave of absence, effective immediately, and that he will be retiring from his position in November 2011. Charles Lester, Senior Deputy Director of the CCC's North Central Coast District Office, will serve as acting Executive Director until a successor has been chosen.
