Community Meeting - Colorado Lagoon Restoration Project, Phase 2

The City of Long Beach Departments of Community Development and Parks, Recreation and Marine are hosting a public meeting on Phase 2 of the Colorado Lagoon Restoration Project.

The purpose of Phase 2 is to further improve water and habitat quality at Colorado Lagoon by improving the tidal connection to Marine Stadium. An engineering study on the different options available was recently completed, and is available here.

Meeting details follow:

Wednesday, August 11
7 p.m.
Recreation Park's Bruin Den (5000 E. 7th Street)

Friends of Colorado Lagoon (FOCL), an advocacy group working to restore and preserve this important urban wetland, is strongly supportive of Alternative 4a. Dave Pirazzi, FOCL President, articulately explains why in a "Spit and Argue" piece published in the Grunion Gazette, which can be read here.
